Christopher Maurer is an architect based in Cleveland, Ohio and adjunct professor at Kent State University College of Architecture. Christopher is from Northeast Ohio but has lived, and directed major architectural projects, in New York, Anchorage, Florence, Lilongwe, and Kigali. In Africa, he managed humanitarian projects for and the Clinton Global Initiative, Partners In Health, the UN Millennium Village Project, Madonna and Raising Malawi, Jeff Gordon Children’s Foundation, and Noella Couraris.
Christopher has written open source material for the AIA and the Center for Architecture Foundation on building technology and is currently prototyping disaster relief shelters utilizing a new building material and methodology that he is developing that is environmentally sustainable, structural, thermally resistive, fireproof, and can actually improve the food and water security of the community that builds with it.
