hoop dreams
Hoop Dreams is a recycled basketball hoop, the outcome of a resident artist project led by Harambee local artist Vedale Hill. He developed this project from building low-cost “crate courts” in his youth. Using milk crates for the hoops and wooden pallets for the backboards, Vedale engaged local youth in this workshop. They built and installed 3 hoops along the artery, two making up a full basketball court and a third at the northern end of the artery. In their first season, the crate courts were home to bandsketball and a visit from Milwaukee Bucks forward Kris Middleton.
