do-op
The purpose of do-op is to create a common space for residents of Harambee neighborhood to access leftovers, whether food, materials, or knowledge to connect neighbors through a range of cultural activity, informed by asset and resource mapping, to stimulate health, creativity and relating. The do-op seeks partners and resources to test an entrepreneurial concept, launching as a gallery and mini café, and evolve into a membership based resource center with access to non-virgin commodities (healthy food + materials) to connect a community and artisans to resources, knowledge, and one another. By outfitting a vacated industrial warehouse and attracting other creative enterprises to the Riverworks corridor, the do-op seeks to continue supporting the development of the artery while also becoming a sustainable business.
